John is a trial attorney. He loves being in the courtroom. He has represented clients in more than 60 jury and bench trials and has handled countless other arbitrations and hearings. His practice now focuses on helping clients in civil and employment litigation, representing clients in non-competition matters, and advising clients on day-to-day labor and employment issues.

John’s litigation skills have been nationally recognized by Super Lawyers (Employment Litigation, 2013 – present) and by The Best Lawyers in America (Litigation – Labor and Employment, 2018 – present). John also runs his own firm, Flood Marcavage Law LLC, a Maryland-based litigation firm which services clients on labor and employment law matters, business disputes, and various types of litigation.

Advice and Counsel

John has extensive experience counseling clients on day-to-day labor and employment issues, such as terminations, requests for accommodations and leaves of absence, reductions in force, and wage and hour matters. While in the Air Force, John acted as de facto in-house employment counsel by advising and representing Air Force management in all aspects of labor and employment law in relation to its civilian workforce. John believes that good, proactive legal advice will usually avoid costly litigation, which is always in the best interests of clients.
